Why does the D Loop, which is part of the mitochondrial genome, only provide information about the maternal side of one’s family?

Please make two separate answers for Document #1 and #12 sense they both have different sequence and Follow the same instructions for both. also please for answering the questions try to answer it in different wording
Follow the instructions in Lab 10 Analyzing D Loop Sequence to conduct a BLAST search of
your D Loop sequence. D Loop sequences are in the D Loop Sequences folder, which is in the
Lab Assignment 2 D Loop Analysis folder on Canvas.
2. Click on the accession number for each of your 100 hits (last column on the right) and
look for information about the geographic origin of the sequence using the information
provided in the Lab 10 instructions. Make a table that lists all 100 of your hits and their
geographic location and/or ethnicity. If you are unable to determine the geographic location
and/or ethnicity for a hit, list “ND” for “not determined”.
3. Use the data documented in your table to create a graph (any type of graph will work, it is up
to you). You may combine hits to show a pattern in geographic locations if you want to. For
example, if you have multiple hits from several countries in a specific geographic location or
continent, you may combine them to show a high number of hits from the same general
geographic area. The purpose of the graph is to create a visual representation of your data
showing relative quantities from specific geographic areas.
In addition to creating the table and graph, be sure to answer the following questions:
4. Are all of your hits from the same general location, or do you see hits from multiple
geographic locations? If you see hits from multiple places, be sure to give me at least one
REASONABLE explanation for how that pattern could have come to be. Do a little research to
help you. For example, if you see some hits from Africa as well as some hits from France, do a
little research to find out how those two areas have been connected (socially, politically,
economically, etc.) in the past.
6. Why does the D Loop, which is part of the mitochondrial genome, only provide information
about the maternal side of one’s family?
7. Do your results tell you about your ancestry or your DNA’s ancestry? Remember, a person’s
ancestry is their genetic history from all of their past ancestors. DNA’s ancestry is the
evolutionary history of one specific sequence of DNA. Explain your answer (and use your
answer to question 6 to help you).
