Example: My favorite animal is the Coqui frog, which is native to Puerto Rico.  Puerto Rican grandparents would take me every October to their island. Every night that we would be eating dinner, or enjoying the breeze on the balcony  always hear the beautiful noise of the coqui.  grandfather considered this brown small frog to represent me, small, mighty and outspoken.

Second and Third Paragraph

Describe the synapomorphies of your animal and state which group that the synapomorphy came from.
Example: The coqui frog has four limbs which comes from the tetrapoda clade. In addition to their four limbs they have four digits on their front limbs and mucus glands which is from being part of Amphibia.
Please state at least 4 clades from which synapomorphies have come from. You need to discuss at least 8 traits that the animal has.
Fourth Paragraph
Describe the habitat that your animal lives in.
Describe the eating habits of your animal. What does it eat? Who eats your animal? How does it catch its food?

Describe the Defense/Offense mechanisms that your animal has. Hint: Jaws is a defense/offense mechanism. Paired Fins could also be a defense mechanism as it allows them to swim faster. Take the time to look and think about the animal there might be common traits that you can describe as a defensive or offensive mechanism.

Fun Facts about your animal! What is the size of your animal? Breeding habits?
Breeding habits example: Penguins are monogamous, they mate for life. They propose to their mate by placing rocks at their feet, similar to our own engagement ring. After their mate passes away the other penguins in the village will sing to the mate that mourns.
Example: The coqui frog got its name from the Taino people that originally inhabited Puerto Rico. They received their name based on the sound they made “ko-kee”. These frogs are the size of a quarter! Additionally, based on their size they have the loudest call of any animal on land.
